At Geary Dentistry we are excited and pleased to tell you about our Digital X-Ray technology.  Thanks to this new advancement we are able to take instantaneous, higher quality x-rays, that are friendlier to people and to the environment!

With this new technology we use computerized equipment and software to capture x-ray images of your mouth and teeth by exposing a small sensor that feeds the image directly into a computer. All this is done using up to 1/10th the radiation of traditional x-rays!

The image appears on the monitor immediately.  No more leaving the room to develop the films, waiting to see how they turned out, and then possibly having to re-take them.  With our digital system the image instantly shows up on the screen.  One of the best things about it is that we can adjust the contrast so that if it is too dark or too light we don't need to re-take the film. We can also zoom in on a particular problem area so that we can see things better, say between the teeth or at the junction between the tooth and a crown, or at the bone.

Because the sensor sends the image directly to the computer, we no longer need to use film and processing chemicals so digital x-rays are not only quicker they are more friendly to the environment.  The image can be stored in your personal record, and if needed it can easily be e-mailed to a specialist or insurance company.

Faster, safer, better quality, more environmentally friendly....what's not to like about digital x-rays?
